Corner House

Hello! (:

Sorry for the long hiatus - I was away on a school trip and was very busy where I was hence I didn't update my blog but since I'm back, I shall do a post!

A couple of weeks ago, we went to Corner House to celebrate my best friend's birthday in advance and we had the most delightful time dining at the protruding indoor balcony of the house, amidst the green yet still in the coolness and comfort of an air-conditioned room. While it might seem counter-intuitive to enjoy being indoors in a beautiful garden, I think the three of us appreciated not having to put up with the intense heat and high humidity on a pre-storm afternoon.

Between the 3 of us, we tried every single item on their Sunday brunch menu and we were, on the whole, impressed with the fusion of flavours that the dishes brought out. We would highly recommend this to all who would like to enjoy a slow lunch over great food.

Alright that's all for now (: Happy Sunday!

The Missing Pan

Hello (:

I finally revisited The Missing Pan yesterday and I think the overall experience was still good (: Although I distinctly remember that their serving of French Toast was much larger in the past, quality-wise, it's more or less the same so I guess things haven't changed that much after all. I think the winning dish was the basket of truffle fries, but then again I love fries so I might be biased =P Loved their sea salt caramel ice-cream but it was a pity that we were only served a tiny scoop! I suspect I'll be back there again next week for a colleague's farewell meal so maybe this time, I'll try something different! (:

Have a good weekend! (:

The Fabulous Baker Boy

Hello (:

School has officially ended for the kids but there are still a lot of things that we have to do such as writing testimonials, meeting students to settle end-of-year activities, going for meetings to plan ahead for next year, chaperoning students for school trips and of course, curriculum writing! It's a different kind of busy-ness and craziness but I'll take all these in my stride and push towards the finish line, where I can fully dissociate myself from school and take a much needed break from work.

In the mean time, there's always good food and great company to keep me going! (: We decided to go to The Fabulous Baker Boy to try their desserts and true to the many reviews that we have read, their desserts were great! Their tarts were exceptional and their carrot cake had an added oomph because of the coconut flakes. In all, we thoroughly enjoyed our afternoon at TFBB.

Would definitely go back for more yummy desserts! (: Happy Sunday! (:
