gets it right every single time!
We love it. We will always love it. Especially the heavenly budino that isn't featured here.
Have a great weekend, everyone! (:

Rubato
Hello (:
Today seems like a pretty slow day cos we spent half the day in school, a couple of hours lunching with a very good friend, a few hours napping (yes I know my naps are super long but hey in my defence, they make up for the lack of rest I get at night cos I dream way too much), an couple of hours surfing and doing household chores and suddenly, the day's almost over!
Although we'll probably have to start the cycle of prepping for school again tmr, I think today's break in our usual weekend cycle is somewhat refreshing. And of course, good food and good company is always welcomed!
We ended up at Rubato cos we opted to go some place nearby for lunch, and I must say that the food's pretty darn good! (: The risotto that I'd was creamy, rich and very filling! I also loved their affogato (which I didn't take a photo of)! I like that Rubato provides a conducive and chill environment for us to chit chat and just hide from the scorching heat!
Will probably revisit this place again in the near future! Have a great weekend! (:

Brunetti
Hello (:
We're feeling super thankful for a short work week cos we need to rest up as much as we can before we face the longest week of the term next week! Heheh.
We went to Brunetti to have a dinner to mark the end of the first full week of school and we reminded of their satisfying dishes! (: I think they have got their seasoning right because their food is often tasty, though I must admit that it might be a tad too salty for most people. Because we just got out of a full work week, we didn't mind the strong flavours at all so we heartily ate all our food up!
Happy Raya to all Muslim friends and happy midweek to the rest of us! (:

Supply and Demand
Hello (:
We're currently having our break in HCMC, and I'm really appreciating the short respite from work. Prior to our leaving Singapore, we had a quick meal at Supply and Demand because we had to finish our meal before catching Les Mis.
Because our time at Supply and Demand was short, we decided to order only these two dishes to ensure that we could make it in time for our musical. The pita was wonderfully made but the pasta as average. On the whole, we both liked the food enough to want to go back to try more dishes! =D
That's all for a super short update! Have a good rest of the week while we continue to rest and chill in HCMC (:

Basilico
Hello (:
I'm gonna say outright that this post does not do Basilico justice cos there is way more food offered than what is featured. The main reason why I didn't take that many photos was cos I was sitting at at area where the light was spoilt, hence there was no lighting and I found it very troublesome to take photos! =| I had to borrow my sister's space whenever I had to take photos, which was troublesome, so I stopped after the first few plates =P
Basilico's Italian buffet, in my humble opinion, is possibly the best Italian buffet that I have ever eaten. The quality of food is always superb and the selection of dishes is massive (: It was my sisters' first visit to Basilico and they were extremely impressed with all that they tried! (: I'm pretty sure we'll end up going back to Basilico again one day (:
For now, here are some photos taken at Basilico:
[The other Italian buffet that's simpler but also very good is Pete's Place! The Italian food at Pete's is more homely-Italian and the food is slightly more affordable (:]
Alright that's all for now (: Happy Sunday!

Jamie's Italian (Forum)
Hello! (:
It's the last day of 2015! I've been having the most amazing time just being at home most of the day and going out for a short stretch of a few hours just taking in fresh air and stretching my legs (: We have been trying diff routes on the new DTL these few days as our post-dinner activity, and I must say that the DTL really brings a lot of convenience!
To celebrate the end of a very busy but good year with a good friend, we went to Jamie's for a meal. We have heard many bad reviews about Jamie's but I think our experience was pretty good. True, the food's not fantastic but it isn't bad either! Above-average quality food and good service, I think that's acceptable (: Here're some pics of our food:
Enjoy the countdown tonight! See you on the other side! (:

Ristorante de Valentino
Hello (:
We decided to indulge in a treat yesterday to celebrate my tummy feeling better and we went to Valentio's because we wanted to have some pasta/ risotto (:
I sometimes forget how wonderfully hearty Valentino's dishes are and my experience there yesterday was a timely reminder. I absolutely loved their warm, crusty bread and their incredibly fresh tomatoes. Their risotto was flavourful too but it got a little too cheesy/ too much for me so I didn't manage to finish it. I would highly suggest that you share the mushroom risotto if you ever decide to order it; it might go well with a lighter dish (i.e. some other dish without cream base or just some non-carbo dish) so perhaps we shall remember to do that next time (:
The room was slightly dark so we couldn't take good photos, but I guess these will have to do:
Absolutely can't wait for the Jubilee Weekend! Shall press on!

La Nonna
Hello (:
We're immensely grateful for another long weekend because there's a tad more time to breathe, have some fun and clear work at the same time (: The few of us had a great evening out yesterday cos we had a nice dinner and then decided, on whim, to go on an adventure to Seng Kang just because we had wanted to visit some place which we have yet to go to before. When we reached Seng Kang, we decided to look for my sister's soon-to-be-ready HDB estate and we managed to find it! Heh T'was pretty fun (:
We'll be looking forward to having a blast this weekend, and what better way to kick-start the weekend by planning what to eat later? =P We'd very fresh-tasting, wholesome food at La Nonna last weekend and we both enjoyed our dishes. I realised that pesto is fast becoming one of my favourite kinds of pasta sauce cos it's not as heavy as cream yet it has more taste than simple aglio olio (: Perhaps we'll head back to La Nonna on Monday to take advantage of their awesome lunch deals =P
Alright that's all for now (: Happy weekend! (:

Donna Carmela
This weekend has been both good and bad - we managed to spend some time together and catch up with each other but we also had to spend many hours doing rituals. I am thankful for the people who have been around the past few days, and grateful for all the laughter and conversations we have had.
One of my favourite comfort foods, Risotto.
Thank you, Ah Ma (:

Melbourne
Hello (:
I'm back from Melbourne and I can see what it is marketed as the 'most liveable city in the world' ;) It really is a pleasant country with lots of great food, energy and a dash of artsy vibe. Perhaps I was lucky to have extremely good weather during my stay in Melbourne (although I must admit that it was still chilly when the wind blew despite the sun being out in its full glory) because I managed to be out and about every day, exploring Melbourne CBD and its surrounding areas in Victoria, so I felt like I managed to make good use of my time in Melbourne, just getting sucked into the flow of things, and enjoying time spent away from work and the www.
I must admit that I had wanted to give a little commentary after each meal but after uploading the rather massive number of food photos, I decided against doing so or I will have to sacrifice 1h of my sleep. Heh. I think I made the conscientious effort to take a photo of the names of the shops/ cafes/ restaurants that we visited (except for two if I'm not wrong) hence you can actually refer to the photos to know where I went.
We went through our photos over dinner just now and my sisters exclaimed (vehemently) that I should really STOP using the date stamp because it ruins my photos =| Oh well, I'll consider removing the date stamp the next time I use my camera. Heh.
Alright enough talking, photos!

I might have left out a few other photos but I think this is the bulk of it! (: I must really thank my trusty travel companion and my long time friend for making this trip such a relaxing and enjoyable one (:
Have a good Sunday everyone! (:
